Cecelia MontoDr. Cecelia Monto is a Dean at Chemeketa Community College and an advocate for equity-based programs at the community college. Monto initiated a bilingual path for education students, and she has successfully integrated the Oregon Seal of Biliteracy nto higher education to honor bilingual student assets. Monto has been instrumental in improving transfer in Oregon and served as co-chair for the first Major Transfer Map in the state for Education majors. She founded a rural adult literacy project in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 2004 as a sabbatical project (which she continues to oversee), participated in a Fulbright exchange to Argentina, and is bilingual.
