Vickie CarverBefore they were married, Stuart and Vickie made a deal that shaped their lives. In 1981, their relationships had grown and come to an awkward crossroads. They both wanted to build a family together, but they didn't want to do it the world's way. Ther ultimatum to each other was, "God's way or no way." Without really knowing what they were doing, they literally shook hands in agreement to take the leap toward God's ways for their marriage and their family. At that moment, they thought they were making an agreement with each other. As they later learned, God had more in mind. One thing led to another, and their pursuit of family, God's way, began to draw others in. Within their first ten years of marriage, Stuart and Vickie were engaged in regular relational discipleship activities where people were helping people turn toward God and His ways for their families. In 2004, they co-founded the Family God's Way movement, and, in 2006, their first relational-discipleship platform, Birth of a Family, was created. They didn't know it at the time, but inside their handshake in 1981, a triune covenant was formed that included more than just the two of them. God had much more in mind. As their family and friends will tell you, God gave Stuart and Vickie an insatiable hunger to help people turn toward God and say, "Your way!"Stuart is a pastor who is driven to engage the Body of Christ as the leading agent of change in the world, and Vickie is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator. Together, Vickie and Stuart have worked to share Birth of a Family in the United States and globally. They have enjoyed more than 40 years of marriage, parenting, and, now, grand-parenting. At their rural home, gardening, beekeeping, and inventing new ways to build lasting memories with their family are favorite pastimes. They also love to cook. Read More Read Less
