Forschungsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 1,7, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Forschungspraktikum, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die im Arbeitsmarkt herrschenden Differenzen im Status, die Veränderungen der gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen zur Folge haben, stellen immer wieder ein gesellschaftlich relevantes und brisantes Thema dar, das in den öffentlichen und politischen Debatten einen zunehmend hohen Stellenwert einnimmt. So wird in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur nach den möglichen Ursachen für bestehende Unterschiede im beruflichen Status gefragt. Als potentielle Determinante für die beobachteten Differenzen zwischen Erwerbspersonen werden unter anderem unterschiedlich hohe Investitionen in die Bildung und damit in das Humankapital genannt (vgl. Kühne 2009: 53f.). Der Anreiz für diese Untersuchung ist die Tatsache, dass Frauen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt auch trotz gleicher formaler Bildungsqualifikationen nach wie vor benachteiligt sind. Auf diesen Umstand deuten etwa die Ergebnisse einer empirischen Analyse von Achatz hin (vgl. Achatz 2008: 290f.). Dies erscheint aus soziologischer Perspektive insofern sinnvoll, als die Unterschiede im Hinblick auf die erreichte berufliche Position der ersten Stelle nicht notwendigerweise auf die unterschiedliche Ausstattung der Absolventinnen und Absolventen mit Humankapital zurückzuführen sind, sondern vielmehr Hinweise auf die soziale Ungleichheit zwischen den Geschlechtern liefern können. Die vorliegende Untersuchung befasst sich mit dem Einfluss von Humankapital auf die erste Stellung im Beruf von Hochschulabsolventen. Im Vordergrund dieser Arbeit steht hierbei die Frage, inwieweit sich die Absolventen hinsichtlich der beruflichen Position voneinander unterscheiden und ob diese Ungleichheit auf die unterschiedliche Humankapitalausstattung zurückgeführt werden können.
