About the Book

This book is supposed to scare you! If reading this doesn't frighten you, then I haven't done my job. The most important thing in this book that I want my friends to take away is how our entire civilization is predicated on accelerating technological change. It means that all technological progress is the backbone of human civilization improving. As the prominent venture capitalist and first investor in Facebook, Peter Thiel says, our entire civilization has grown because of vast improvements in technology. The worlds most respected futurist Ray Kurzweil says, we didn't stay on the ground, we didn't stay on the planet and we won't stay within the limits of our biology. In less than 40 years we will become like the Gods with magical technologies that would blow your mind today, as my friend Jason Silva says, "Having created the Gods, we shall become like the GODS!"This century will make the biggest shift in our humanity from a type zero to a type 1 civilization (explained later in the book) and we will solve many of the grand challenges of the age old, like curing aging, have mind uploading and unlimited clean and free energy. We shall even create new technologies that will make science fiction into science fact. You do want to make it to the future right? I hope this book motivates you to be aware at the possibility of what's coming. The new digital renaissance that's coming soon. Very soon at hand. I mean we are going to be living in times of great prosperity and technological marvel, the 21st century will see 20000 years of progress due to the exponential nature of technology. Not sure? Well I shall explore futurists Michio Kaku and Raymond Kurzweil's claims who believe so. I firmly believe that the greatest technological advances will take place over this century. I will examine the credibility of new technological advances in a fun way! Well read on and find out!In this book I will tell you about how the future will change for the better and how you can capitalize on that growth to better apply this knowledge to enhance your life.
About the Author: I'm Nitish Kannan, and I grew up on the space Coast in Cape Canaveral, Florida. I think this city is a paragon of excellence, from which humanity launched a man to the moon and remains the metaphorical home of the American space program. But, to me it has always been so much more. I've been fortunate to meet a few astronauts and on occasion listen to them speak. Often times, when I recall what I hear astronauts whom have visited space talk about and describe what they see and share their experience, I always hear the same thing. I hear them lament, I see no countries with borders, and that it's hard to imagine or even fathom why anyone would be fighting over the borders of nations, religions and resources, when clearly the whole world is large, from space there are no visible borders and there is enough resources for all. When clearly we have more in common than that separates us. When clearly our DNA illustrates we have more in common than that separates us. The Earth is so small in the context of the universe and we get 10000x more solar power than we need in the form of usable photons which can become electricity. We have oceans with water, maybe they have little fishies and a bit of salt in them. However, with the advent of cheap power thanks to nuclear fusion and solar we can have cheap water. I don't see resource shortages in our universe they say. The galaxy is large and nuclear fusion is an infinitely renewable process all over the universe. So why don't people look at the world like astronauts? They look at the world with astonishment, thankful for its large scale and our uniqueness and have a sense of wonder. Why don't we change our conversations to wonder and how much better it can be rather than complain about things that aren't real, false prophets, false ideology and false wars haven't done much over the last few thousand years, so why bother dealing with them now. There is our universe and there are no laws on humanity. So be free, think big and change the world. The biggest change in your life starts with you.
