Sie dient nicht nur der Kommunikation, sondern spiegelt auch die Werte, Überzeugungen und sozialen Strukturen einer Gesellschaft wider. In der Literaturwissenschaft wird Sprache als ein wesentliches Gut einer Kultur betrachtet, das den Zugang zu verschiedenen kulturellen Bereichen ermöglicht und Identitäten formt. In dieser Arbeit steht die Analyse eines literarischen Werkes im Kontext der Romantik im Mittelpunkt. Dabei wird das Gedicht "Canto a Teresa" des spanischen romantischen Dichters José de Espronceda genauer unter die Lupe genommen. Es wird untersucht, inwieweit sich in Esproncedas Werk frauenfeindliche Ideale manifestieren und wie diese sich in seiner Sprache und seinen Stilmitteln widerspiegeln. Die Analyse erfolgt vor dem Hintergrund historischer und literarischer Kontexte, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Epoche der Romantik und deren ambivalente Einstellung zur Position der Frau. Um eine fundierte Grundlage für die Analyse zu schaffen, werden zunächst kontexteinbettende Termini diskutiert, darunter romantische Subjektivität, Misogynie und das Gedicht "El Diablo Mundo" als Prätext für das Werk "Canto a Teresa". Diese Diskussion ermöglicht es, das Werk von Espronceda in einen adäquaten Kontext einzuordnen und seine misogynen Tendenzen besser zu verstehen. Im Anschluss daran erfolgt die eigentliche sprachliche Analyse des Gedichts "Canto a Teresa", bei der die misogyne Darstellung von Frauen in Esproncedas Werk untersucht wird. Dabei werden verschiedene sprachliche Strukturen und Stilmittel analysiert, um die Argumentation zu unterstützen und zu vertiefen. Abschließend werden die Ergebnisse der Analyse reflektiert und ein Urteil über Esproncedas Werk
