About the Author: Isabel Güell López (Barcelona, 1958) estudió Medicina en la Universidad de Barcelona y se especializó en Neurología en el hospital Ramón y Cajal de Madrid. Dedicada al ámbito hospitalario y asistencial, ha publicado diversos trabajos de investigación. En la actualidad es miembro del cuerpo facultativo del Centro Médico Teknon de Barcelona, con especial dedicación al campo de las demencias y otras patologías del sistema nervioso central. Su etapa inicial de formación entre grandes eruditos en el detalle de la historia clínica de cada paciente marcó su camino. Publicó su primera obra de ficción, Corazón negro, en 1996, y desde entonces no ha dejado de escribir. En el año 2006 vio la luz su primer libro de divulgación científica, El cerebro al descubierto (Kairós). Más tarde focalizó su interés en el campo de la memoria y, en 2012, publicó La pierna olvidada. Entender la memoria para mejorarla (LibrosEnRed). Su última novela, La redacción del padre (2018), es autobiográfica. «Escribo porque soy médico y soy mejor médico porque escribo». Ciencia y literatura; dos campos en apariencia antagónicos que se retroalimentan con un denominador común: la necesidad de descubrir o descubrirse.
