With the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment here & the culmination of events and decades of years leading up to it, you would think that We as a people would have made it much further in the areas of employment & politics.
I mean yes, there are more women serving in Congress than ever before, & sure the wife of a former impeached U.S. president almost became an elected ( because Edith Wilson became president by default after Woodrow had a stroke) president of the land of opportunity, but with the amount of sexism in the workforce, & socio-economic inequality in this country it's blatantly pathetic to be proud to be an American at times...
There have been over 50 countries where they have had, female presidents or rulers, and the amount of people that come from other countries to this precious land of milk and honey for opportunities each year is staggering.
I mean people were risking their babies this year just to make it to America...
While women are continually being ostracized in a country, community, & workforce that they have practically birthed...
It's past the point of being equal, and nearly on the verge of needing restraining orders. I mean we have a so-called feminine liberty. We can make our own money & spend it how we choose. But I don't think that was the reason women were going to jail, hunger striking, & burning & blowing things up for. Not for the right to just be pretty on their own terms...
The suffragette movement was just the beginning, but at some point, we lost focus & became complacent with being able to sit at the table, after we've cooked the meal, washed the dishes, and got the house in order.
It's time to start making cookbooks again, educating & empowering our daughter's, & feeding our son's because they're claiming that we are only interested in chasing the bag and that we're neglecting our families once more.
They will allow us to get our masters, and graduate with all of the honors, but unless we build the house or company they will never let us run it.
