Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 1,0, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Am Dialekt lässt sich erkennen, aus welcher Region ein Mensch in Deutschland stammt. Diese allgemeingültige Aussage klingt erst einmal plausibel. Heutzutage trifft man jedoch immer mehr Menschen, die keinen erkennbaren Dialekt mehr sprechen. Warum ist das so? Grundsätzlich geht man immer davon aus, dass nur "die alten Leute" den "richtigen" Dialekt sprechen. Und wenn diese Menschen sterben, stirbt dann auch der Dialekt als wichtiger Teil der deutschen Tradition mit ihnen? Gibt es in Deutschland wirklich ein Dialektsterben und wenn ja, was kommt danach? Auf der anderen Seite gibt es auch die These des Dialektwandels. Wie genau wandelt sich ein Dialekt; kommt Neues hinzu oder wird Altes ersetzt? Wandel der Sprache geht immer einher mit gesellschaftlicher Veränderung. Was genau ändert sich in unserer Gesellschaft und inwiefern hat die soziale Wandlung Einfluss auf den Dialekt? Zunächst einmal soll untersucht werden, ob die spürbaren Veränderungen des deutsches Dialekts auf ein Dialektserben oder einen Dialektwandel hinweisen und mit welchen Faktoren diese Annahmen einhergehen. Diese Kernfrage möchte ich im Laufe meiner Arbeit erörtern und dabei Antworten auf die vorangegangenen Fragen finden. In Punkt 2 möchte ich auf den historischen Stellenwert des Dialekts innerhalb der Gesellschaft eingehen. Welchen Stellenwert hatte Dialekt in der deutschen Tradition bisher und inwiefern bestimmt Dialekt einen Teil der Identität? Punkt 3 behandelt die Frage, ob wir es - falls überhaupt - mit einem Dialektsterben oder einem Dialektwandel zu tun haben und Punkt 4 erläutert die Faktoren, die die Annahme eines Dialektverfalls bedingen. Des Weiteren wird untersucht, inwieweit sich die Funktion des Dialekts kongruent zu den gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen und Modernisierungserscheinungen gewandelt hat. Im Anschluss wird die Alternative und mögliche Nachfolgeerscheinung
