Allison Jane GonsalvesAllison Jane Gonsalves was born in Ottawa, Canada. Her ancestral roots go back to India.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Ottawa, she completed a residency in Public Health and PreventiveMedicine at the University of Calgary. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.

Allison started writing poetry in 2014. In 2019, she began adding visual artwork to her poems.

She developed a love of French while studying the language in Ottawa and spoke it during her travels through France. That led her to the title of this collection of poems.
