Bader ShirahBader Shirah is a physician and an eminent researcher from Saudi Arabia. He obtained his medical degree from the college of medicine at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah. Subsequently, he pursued further professional trining and obtained medical practice licenses in both Saudi Arabia (Saudi Commission for Health Specialties) and Canada (Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada). Dr. Shirah built the field of space medicine in Saudi Arabia. He was initially selected to contribute to the strategic plans of the Saudi Space Commission following the establishment of the Saudi Space Commission on December 27, 2018. He then had many meaningful contributions and represented the Kingdom in international scientific activities. Dr. Shirah achieved several important milestones that were the building blocks for the futuristic field of space medicine in Saudi Arabia. These include publishing the first set of papers from Saudi Arabia, publishing the first book on space medicine in the Arabic language, and conducting workshops to educate Saudi students and scientists on the emerging field of space medicine. He also founded the first Saudi company specializing in space medicine research and development.
