Cindy Roe Littlejohn
CINDY ROE LITTLEJOHN is the author of three books, including the series "Palmetto Pioneers," a nonfiction adventure-action story, mostly set in Florida's past. She lives in North Florida near the antebellum homes and Old Florida architecture that erve as a backdrop for her series. She draws from the area's rich characters and thought-provoking plots.
The first book in her Palmetto Pioneers series entitled "The Emigrants" won an IPPY bronze medal for nonfiction in the southeastern US, and three more medals for history, biography, and cover design with the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. she released the second book in March of 2022.
At seven times a grandmother, she is the wife of an environmental engineer and the mother of three adult children, but she is also a tree farmer, blogger, retired agriculture and environmental lobbyist, piano player, former association manager, world traveler, old trails traveler, and former adjunct professor. She and her husband once survived a hurricane on a clipper ship.
Doing her writing at home or on Florida's coast, Cindy loves best the research and writing--not so much the editing. She loves to transport her readers to "Old Florida," to what has mostly been left behind or paved over-the lush untamed Florida where strong men came with redeeming flaws and their women were almost always stronger than they looked. She aspires to bring to life these everyday people who shaped Florida.
Cindy is working on the third book of her series, the conclusion of "Palmetto Pioneers."
