Emmanuel Rotimi SadikuProf. Rotimi Sadiku is a Professor at the Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. studied (BSc. [Hons], 1980 and PhD 1986) at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, U, where he specialized in Polymer Physics (Polymer Processing and X-ray Diffraction, Thermal Characteristics, Rheology and Microscopy of Polymers techniques). Following his graduation, he took up a position as a Lecturer II, at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria until Sept. 1989, when took-up a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position at the University of Genova/CNR, Genova, Italy (1989-1990). He returned to Nigeria and joined the services of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria as a Senior Lecturer, in January 1991. In 1997, he spent a year as a Research Fellow at the KTH Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He also had a 3-month research exposure at the Faculty of Physics, University of Freiburg, Germany. He returned to the Federal University of Technology, Minna. In July 1999, he went to the Stellenbosch University as a Research Fellow, where he spent 2 years, following which, he returned to the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in June 2001 as a Senior Lecturer. After another year at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (in June 2002), he took up a position as a Principal Scientist with Sasol, in Sasolburg, RSA. He spent 1.5 years with Sasol and took up his current position, as a Research Professor at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Pretoria, RSA in Jan. 2004. Prof. Sadiku is an author/co-author of more than 300 Journal articles (in high impact journals and Conference Proceedings) and more than 80 book chapters.
