George S. ClasonAmerican author George Samuel Clason lived from November 7, 1874, through April 5, 1957. He studied at Nebraska University. During the Spanish-American War, he served in the American Army. Clason founded the Denver, Colorado-based Clason Map Company nd the Clason Publishing Company. A road atlas of the United States and Canada was first published by the Clason Map Company, but it failed to survive the Great Depression. Clason is most known for penning a number of educational pamphlets on how to be frugal and succeed financially. In 1926, he began writing the booklets using parables that were set in pre-Babylonian Babylon. The parables were first distributed by banks and insurance firms, and the most well-known ones were collected in the book The Richest Man in Babylon - The Success Secrets of the Ancients.
