Graham D DoddGraham has had a passion for promoting health and physical education throughout his career. From 1978-84, he was the national coordinator and co-author/editor of the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) Daily Physcal Program. He co-founded Kindergym Australia in 1980 and was pivotal in creating the Jump Rope for Heart program and school resources in 1983. His drive to get students active and engaged in physical activity led him to co-found PE Week Australia in 1984.Later on, Graham took on the role of Program Director for the Physical Education and Human Movement/Exercise Science degrees and Studies Coordinator at the University of South Australia from 1996 to 2009. During this time, he was the principal author-editor of the South Australian Curriculum Frameworks for Health and Physical Education from 1999-2001.He has always been dedicated to providing support for schools in the field of Health and Physical Education, which is why he created TriSkills Australia in 1990 and is still actively serving as its Director today.As a Fellow and Life Member of the ACHPER, Graham received the National 2006 Individual Carrick Award for his university teaching. His thesis, 'Toward a Broader Appreciation of Human Motion in Education, ' exposed the impact of mind-body dualism on education practices that devalues PE in schools. He served as the Program Director for two major conferences, the 21st ACHPER National Biennial Conference in Adelaide in 1998 and the 27th ACHPER International Conference 'Moving, Learning, and Achieving' again in Adelaide in 2011. His passion for the subject also led him to become Vice-President of National ACHPER and be invited to present the 23rd Fritz Duras Memorial Lecture at the 29th ACHPER International Conference on 'The Unrealised Value of Human Motion: Moving back to movement.'In 2015, Graham was invited to present the inaugural opening keynote at the Asia Pacific Physical Education Conference (APPEC) in Hong Kong, 'Moving Back to Movement.'For more details about Graham's awards, publications, and research see the website (www.curriculumlinked.com) Read More Read Less
