Homer L HartageGuardianship is a natural extension of a long history of service to others. He is the oldest of six children, raised by a single mother. A latchkey kid left with the responsibility of caring for two younger siblings. The Hartage family history embeddd in him a strong commitment of service and caring for others. This has provided the bases of his work as a Professional Guardian. The Hartage family history is very important to Homer and his family. He is the great-great grandson of Webster Joshua Hartage, a slave freed by the Emancipation Proclamation at the age of nine years. Webster's oldest son, George Washington Hartage became an AME pastor and was Homer's great grandfather. This since of place and Christian heritage provided a broad platform for a career of guardianship of others. Strong Christian values, a love for family, a belief in the value of service to others, and the importance of a good education remain his guiding principles. In 1998, Homer Hartage was elected Orange County Commissioner and served eight years helping lead Orange County Government in Florida with a $3 billion dollar budget and more than a million citizens. As Commissioner, he organized neighborhood associations, revitalization neighborhood's and expanded public transportation for underserved communities. He has received two Congressional Citations for Outstanding Community Service.In 2014, he founded AgedCare, a corporate nonprofit guardianship company in Orlando, Florida, where he serves as president. The company has represented more than a hundred guardianship cases for adults and minor children.
