Jana MaderJana Mader is a writer and Lecturer in the Humanities at Bard College. She received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Munich and has taught at the University of North Carolina and The Juilliard School. Her research focses on 19th-century literature and art, women writers of the 19th century, and environmental humanities; she is also an Associate Fellow at the Hannah Arendt Center at Bard College. Her first novel was published in Germany in 2018. As a scholar and writer, she works at the intersection of theory and practice. Jana lives in New York.
