Joana Mosi

Joana Mosi is an award-winning visual artist, author, and educator based in Lisbon, Portugal. Born and raised close to the sea, she studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon and film at Lisbon Film School. Besides creating comics, Joaa has been working in several projects connected to visual narrative, literacy, and education on an international level. Joana has a really hard time sitting still on one place for a long time (which is a problem when your job requires a lot of desk time), so she ends up travelling a lot, participating in a range of art residencies and comics festivals across the globe, including Viborg, Angouleme, Helksinki and Montréal. Her comics have published by kus! and have appeared in several anthologies. ?While she's planning her next crazy endeavour, she stays fresh by teaching (and learning from) new generations of cartoonists at Lisbon's University of Fine Arts and the Animation Workshop in Denmark. The Mongoose is her debut graphic novel.
