Laila JugonI am so proud of myself that I am writing a cookbook and most excited to share with you. It all began back in 2017 when I started my own spice business and that lasted about a year. The time when i thought to open up my YouTube channel 'Laila's Home ooking and Spices' where I showed how to create recipes using my very own spices. And they were delicious, the curry powder was so flavorful that the entire kitchen knew I was making curries. It smells divine and mouthwatering. But things were started to go wrong, just like all the materials started to get so pricy and I wouldn't make any profit because I chose quality over quantity. My love for cooking and sharing never ended. I continuously tried new recipes and post on my YouTube channel and everyone loved them all because you found them easy and simple to make according to your sweet comments. After closing my business, I changed the name of my channel to 'Laila's Home Cooking' and still think it's a bit too long so now you can find me on YouTube by 'Laila Jugon'. My first cooking at the age of 12 was a variety of snacks like bhajia, chana puri, potato fritters and so much more but one thing i've invented at that time was the grated potato dip in an egg wash and shallow fried. That time I never thought of naming it as a potato pancake. I grew up and raised in the beautiful country of Mauritius. Living in Canada i do miss my country and the street food like" dal puri and roti marchant", Salad on the go but i also love Canada, after living here for over 18 years. So that means to get Mauritian food i have to make them myself and enjoy them everytime. This cookbook is all about eating and enjoying with friends and family and putting a smile on each of their faces. All the recipes here are new and easy to follow, you will find a variety of Mauritian and international foods for all occasions, just like napolitane, rice puddings, cakes and a variety of tart. Pasta, rice pilaf, Daube au Fish, Biryani Mauritian, and Bombay style, that I showed my Aunt and Cousin about 8 years ago and it became there every sunday dinner. This book is a chance for me to put my most delightful and chosen recipes in print. Let's all cook together and enjoy every moment of this cookbook. The most requested recipe was the Banana Tarte and yes they are here waiting for you. One thing I have to mention here is while writing each recipe I get cravings for each of them because they are too good. There is nothing better than satisfying my family and friends with good food.
