Malinda CramerMalinda Elliott Cramer was a healer and a leader in the early New Thought movement. She was born on February 12, 1844, and she died on August 2, 1906. Cramer's parents, Obediah and Mary Hinshaw Elliott, had her in Greensboro, Indiana. She moved to Sa Francisco in 1872 to try to fix a health problem that kept coming back. There, she met Charles Lake Cramer, a photographer, whom she married the same year. Even though she moved, she still had health problems that made her unable to work. In 1885, maybe with the help of Christian Scientist Miranda Rice, Cramer had what she called a "divine revelation" after a "hour of earnest meditation and prayerful seeking."
