Murray LeinsterMurray Leinster was the pen name of William Fitzgerald Jenkins, an American author of science fiction who lived from June 16, 1896, until June 8, 1975. More than 1,500 short stories, essays, 14 film scripts, hundreds of radio plays, and television plys were all written and published by him. George B. Jenkins and Mary L. Jenkins' son Leinster was born in Norfolk, Virginia. His father worked as a CPA. The 1910 Federal Census shows that the family resided in Manhattan despite the fact that both parents were born in Virginia. Leinster, whose actual name was William F. Jenkins, was also an inventor best recognized for developing the front projection technique used in special effects.
