Paul S DunneAfter surrendering his registration to practice as a psychologist, it was now time to have a consultation with himself. Like most people, this practitioner knew about meditation in different forms and shared it with clients. He knew about self-reflecion and journaling, and he tested and used a variety of techniques for personal healing, including many that come under the umbrella of spiritual psychology and what is termed energy psychology.More broadly, he knew about the benefits of exercise, diet, good sleep, and avoiding stress. These seemed somewhat obvious, if not a little too obvious. Nothing appeared to be enough, as this seemingly liberated practitioner grappled with stifling questions about life and purpose. How was he going to support young people, young people engaging in self-harm or taking their own lives? All while an industry built on evidence-based mental health practices, ignorance, and pharmaceuticals looked on.Maybe not the best psychologist in town, and certainly not the worst. He rationalized that number 42 was the best answer, but it would not serve as an answer in this case. Following a personal consultation with himself, and many discussions with his spirit team, a gentle flow of information and creativity appeared. This practice is called M.A.G.I.C., and subsequently, this book is one outcome of that flow of inspiration. The thought is, there were many other inspirations, but a sense of urgency caused them to be missed.Paul had worked in and around the youth sector, providing face-to-face counseling for children, young people, carers, and workers with young people. There have been times when he worked only with young people and then there were times he worked only in aged care. From the very beginning, he adopted a holistic and global perspective to include the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the client within his or her community. This book is a collection of teachings from many masters across time, combined with personal insights or messages, and the results of years of searching for questions and choosing answers. Answers came from insights after sitting on a tractor for thousands of hours. Insights came while sitting with the many clients on the beach, in the bush, riding horses, sitting in coffee shops, and at times in an office. And insights that flowed onto paper while sitting with the ocean, watching the waves in meditation. These insights have been enhanced by the answers that came from the journals of university study, molded into shape by a lifetime of practicing to become an awakened being. Documenting this was, in many ways, about taking responsibility for being on this planet, finding the gems, and choosing to serve the collective. Read More Read Less
