They wanted to put me into special classes for children that had dfficulty learning. My mother stood firm and refused to let them transfer me. Thank God for my mother! I struggled all through school. It took me fourteen years to finally graduate. I became a cosmetologist and had a successful career for thirty-four years. I was married to my husband, John Seifert, for twenty-five years. He developed leukemia and died after a bone marrow transplant at the age of forty-seven. I've been a widow for twenty-three years.
