Tyrone PowerTyrone Edmund Power III was an American actor that lived between May 5, 1914 to November 15, 1958. Power featured in scores of films from the 1930s to the 1950s, frequently as a swashbuckler or a love protagonist. Jesse James, The Mark of Zorro, Mari Antoinette, Blood and Sand, The Black Swan, Prince of Foxes, Witness for the Prosecution, The Black Rose, and Captain from Castile are among his more well-known films. Nightmare Alley was Power's personal favorite among the films in which he appeared. Though he was primarily a matinée idol in the 1930s and early 1940s, and was noted for his striking good looks, Power acted in films ranging from drama to light humor. He began limiting the quantity of films he would produce in the 1950s in order to dedicate more time to theater performances. As a theatrical actor, he was most known for his performances in John Brown's Body and Mister Roberts. At the age of 44, Power died of a heart attack. In 1970, his eldest daughter Romina Power married Italian music superstar Al Bano, with whom she developed a musical duet that became enormously popular around the world. Read More Read Less
