Vania Díaz Romero PazVania Díaz Romero Paz was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She has a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and a Master's in Hispanic Literature from the University of Oregon. She specializes in Latin American and Chicano literature and postcolonial studies. She arived in the United States more than a decade ago with her five-year-old son and has lived through the vicissitudes of being an immigrant, working and studying in a different culture. Currently, she teaches Spanish for Heritage Speakers at Chemeketa Community College. She lives in Woodburn, Oregon, with her family, whom she considers bilingual and multicultural.
