Victor PentreathVic Pentreath was born just after the Second World War and spent his childhood in the south of England. During early family visits to Cornwall, he developed a fascination with the natural world. He went to St Andrews University where he received his Sc and PhD degrees. Most of his career was spent teaching at the University of Salford, principally in the field of neurosciences. He headed a research group studying electrical and metabolic interactions between nerve cells. He is married with five grown-up children.
