About the Book

The 13th Life of Desire; with the subtitle: Putting under Control all Desires; tends to showcase the rebirth of thirteen lines from the first three lines of desire in our daily life, for example: I once loved, and I smiled, then I missed. He is perfect, she is sweet. These are just few words of a single breath of our desire in life: in high school, college, home and work place. The rest thirteen lines will follow and flow like a river. Probably the next line will be: I long to kiss and be kissed. Desire and fear are the two most powerful emotion in which most life in the world is propelled. There is something we desire, that is why we admired and loved; there is something we fear, that is why we doubted and hesitated. We desire, but we are afraid and uncertain of how we can acquire our wanting. Life desires in a poetic expression is the most noble and true expression in the human language. It is not fiction, it is fact in the sense that I do not decide to write a poem, but i find myself writing; just like dreaming, i do not decide to dream, i just find myself in the dream dreaming. And that is why i have dream poems and a well outlined at the end of my book is a thesis: Why do we dream? Dream desires are also part of my life poetry and our daily desires. The only difference is that i write them in moment of dreaming while i am awake; and the former, I write down upon waking from the dream, though they will be just fragments of dreams. Inspiration is the mother of desire and nature is its source. People are part of nature and form part of desire and inspiration. We appreciate beauty and the loveliness of things that capture our hearts and eyes, igniting the urge to: experience, possess and live it. It's the sublime moment of life or feeling alive. What makes us feel alive is what we desire and therefore we live to want it. But the main issue is... are we satisfied? And if not, can we control our desires? From our perception to our imagination, from our sight to our touch, from our feelings to our needs, the 13th Life of Desire tends to showcase the rebirth of next thirteen lines of desire from the first three lines of inspiration. Inspiration is limited, i mean, brief, but desire is unlimited, you will always desire, always want, you will always need. What a pity for humanity! And as i laugh on my last line, i know, for i have lived and written on it; forming the 13th life of desire. How restless our hearts are in relation to life needs, make me wonder why, and the WHY made me write. Scriptures give us comfort and hope to keep on going, poetry gives us life reality and makes us smile, saying, i was once there, i know, i feel it. Emotions can blot out reason, and poetry requires wisdom, that is, organized life, words and thoughts; how things real are, how we understand them and live with them. After all, desire is necessary, it propels us to work hard, think, and be creative. But, it can also make us envy, corrupt, steal and kill. It's both side of the coin. You can use it to buy goods or use the same coin (money) to corrupt. It's just the way someone may interpret a scripture; the love of money is the root of all evil, but someone somewhere might think...well, the love of money is its root for most goods and happiness. You see. So desire is like a coin, it is just how we see it. At the end of the day, the size of your success depends on the depth of your desire. The late South African president, Nelson Mandela once said "If you speak to a man in a language he understands, it goes to his mind, but if you speak in his language it goes to his heart." And in the thirteenth life of desire I speak in our most secret human language of desire, in prose form and rhyme. The problem with desire is that we would do anything to experience, acquire and satisfy it. Our life is full of desires; our body is a lamb of avarice. But the main question is: How do we control our desire driven life? Desire is not a sin, but anxiety is an inward s
