About the Book
Since the dawn of time, there has been the vocab test.
The basic precept is immutable, if you want to speak a language, you have got to learn the meaning of its words - simple!
As with anything, if you break it down, bit by bit, a task becomes much easier.
Our vocab book provides you with basic and essential Spanish/English vocabulary. The words are broken down into 50 weeks of 20 words a week, arranged into categories (holiday, travel, food etc.)
Also included are blank Spanish/English test pages to help you monitor and test your, or your child's, progress.
Whilst we can't guarantee you will be able to speak fluently after learning the words, you will acquire a broad range of commonly used vocabulary that will put you on the right path - Good Luck!
To have another language is to possess a second soul - Charlemagne

20 Words a Week Spanish: 20 Palabras cada Semana
By the end of our book, if you follow it assiduously, you should have learnt 1000 words. Of course, it is up to you how regularly you study and the main aim is to get to the end remembering the words, rather than rushing through and forgetting them.
We hope the book helps you to improve your Spanish vocabulary. It is not a substitute for an oral and grammatical study of Spanish, but aims to provide you with the basic tools of Spanish, namely the words.
Alternative methods of learning such as listening to the radio, watching Spanish TV/internet videos, software programmes or language discs, all may contribute towards learning a new language.
We suggest you spend a week learning the words, and then testing yourself, using the blank tests at the back of the book.
Fundamentally learning a language requires a bit of effort....and as with any difficult task, it is best to break it down into small parts. Welcome to 20 Words a Week, we hope you enjoy your journey towards mastering a new language...
