Die Berechnung von Tunnelbauwerken zur Losung eines komplizierten Falles der Bauwerks-Bodeninteraktion stellt ein noch nicht ganzlich gelostes Problem des Bauingenieurwesens dar. Zur Zeit werden die Verformungen, die sich wahrend eines Tunnelausbruchs einstellen, in den meisten Fallen nicht berechnet (im Sinne einer Prognose), sondern lediglich in Verbindung mit begleitenden Messbeobachtungen verfolgt. In dieser Arbeit wird zunachst auf die Mechanik des Tunnelbaues eingegangen. Nach einer Beschreibung der wesentlichen Einflussparameter werden die zur Zeit angewandten Berechnungsverfahren sowie der Stand der Technik bei der Modellierung des Materialverhaltens in der Tunnelberechnung dargestellt. Das mechanische Verhalten des Bodens wird unter anderem mit dem hypoplastischen Stoffgesetz beschrieben. Deshalb wird auf die Anwendung dieses relativ neuen Stoffgesetzes in der Finite-Elemente-Methode (FEM) eingegangen. Fur das Stoffverhalten des Spritzbetons wird die zeitliche Verfestigung berucksichtigt. Im weiteren wird eine dreidimensionale Tunnelberechnung mittels der FE-Methode am Beispiel des Tunnelbauprojektes Tunnel Melk dargestellt. Die Berechnungen werden mit linear-elastischem Stoffverhalten, mit Hypoplastizitat und mit einem elasto-plastischen Stoffgesetz mit der Fliessbedingung von MOHR-COULOMB durchgefuhrt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen die Fahigkeiten der verwendeten Stoffgesetze sowie der dreidimensionalen FE-Berechnung im Tunnelbau. Dazu wird auch ein Vergleich mit Verformungsmessungen angestellt. Weiters werden einige Grundsatze der Neuen Osterreichischen Tunnelbauweise uberpruft, um so in Zukunft dreidimensionale FE-Berechnungen als Basis fur eine realitatsnahe Vorhersage bei der Errichtung eines Tunnelbauwerkes nach der NOT einsetzen zu konnen. Im Anschluss wird eine im Zusammenhang mit der NOT gefuhrte Diskussion um den sogenannten ansteigenden Ast der Gebirgskennlinie untersucht. Dazu werden mit einfachen mechanischen Modellen Grenzwerte fur den Verlauf der Gebirgskennlinie berechnet und in Erganzung dazu realistischere und deshalb kompliziertere Verhaltnisse numerisch simuliert.
