The nursing profession should never feel like a trap, but sometimes it can. Here are some answers many nurses need to hear. Some of the most highly skilled and disciplined professionals in America are nurses. Many of them have become frustrated with various aspects of their careers, but they believe they have no other options. Author, consultant, and Nurse Practitioner Nachole Johnson will explode that idea with great suggestions about how to launch a profitable and personally rewarding business that is suited to your interests and experience. By reading 50+ Business Ideas for the Entrepreneurial Nurse, you can discover: - Dozens of business ideas suited to the interests of many nurses- Practical recommendations and resources to help you get started- Pros and cons of each option- Ways to combine your nursing experience with hobby interests to start a business- Estimated start-up costs for various businesses- Additional training or education that might be needed- Links to websites or other resources to learn more.Nurses often do not recognize their broad range of abilities and knowledge. Many nurses work long hours under time and personal pressures. They must be detail-oriented, but also able to coordinate activity with the big picture in mind. They have training and experience in interpersonal communication as well as the use of technologically advanced equipment. They make life and death decisions, sometimes on a daily basis. Those who have worked in a variety of healthcare settings have also demonstrated great flexibility. These skill sets and abilities have prepared many of them to become successful business entrepreneurs.
About the Author: With several published works under her name, and multiple titles in the pipeline, Nachole Johnson has become one of the most prominent voices in nursing in the U.S. Since publishing her first book in 2013, the Family Nurse Practitioner has been a prominent blogger and commentator on issues that affect nursing. Born in Okarche, Oklahoma, Nachole has been a nurse since 2001. Her experience includes infusion therapy, health and wellness, telemedicine, urgent care, occupational medicine, cardiovascular ICU, neuro ICU, travel nursing, home health and long-term acute care. A graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center with a major in Family Nurse Practitioner, her education began as a nurses' aide. She continued on to become an LPN and finally, an RN graduating with her RN-BSN from University of Texas Medical Branch in 2009. Her wealth of education and experience allows her to offer knowledge to help others in nursing; whether starting out or wanting to re-invent their career. Nachole's first book, which she wrote on a "whim", opened doors for her career. "You're a Nurse and Want to Start Your Own Business? The Complete Guide" helped nurses' steer the choppy waters of striking out on their own. Nachole is a regular contributor to Minority Nurse Magazine and www.dailynurse.com as a writer. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Daily Nurse. When she is not working as an FNP or writing, Nachole enjoys spending time with her family, working out, reading and doing "anything related to art." Nachole is currently practicing as an NP in an occupational health and urgent care setting. Published works to date: -You're a Nurse and Want to Start Your Own Business?
