Doktorarbeit / Dissertation aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Biographien, Universität zu Köln, Veranstaltung: Musikethnologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In Zeiten wo Antworten zur Integration der türkischen Gesellschaft in der Bundesrepublik gesucht werden, halten wir den vorliegenden Beitrag für sehr sinnvoll und wichtig. Asik Veysel appelliert trotz seiner Behinderung an die Menschheit für mehr Frieden und Verständnis zueinander. Die Musikforschung hat umfangreiche einzelne Gattungen, Musiktraditionen erforscht, aber dabei sind einzelne Persönlichkeiten nicht genügend berücksichtigt worden. Asik Veysel, einer der wichtigsten und berühmtesten türkischen Volkssängers des 20. Jh. der internationalen Musikforschung zugänglich machen. Gesellschaftliche und persönliche Motive sind für mich die maßgeblichen Kräfte, diese Dissertation zu schreiben. Dabei steht an erster Stelle das Zusammenleben von Deutschen und Türken in den letzten 40 Jahren in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Als Mitglied dieser mittlerweile aus Menschen verschiedener ethnischer und nationaler Herkunft bestehenden deutschen Bundesrepublik möchte ich als Deutscher türkischer Abstammung einen Beitrag im kulturellen Bereich leisten, weil ich der Meinung bin, dass sich Menschen über Kultur besser kennen lernen können. In dieser Dissertation gebe ich einen Einblick in die Wurzeln der türkischen Tradition und ihrer Quellen. Mit dem Anwerberabkommen am 30. Oktober 1961 wurden Türken offiziell von der Bundesrepublik gebeten, in Deutschland zu arbeiten, um das Land mit aufzubauen. Aufgrund der Kriegsfragen fehlten im damaligen Deutschland-West Arbeitskräfte. Zurzeit leben über 2,5 Millionen Türken, davon ungefähr eine halbe Million türkisch stämmige Mitbürger mit deutschem Pass in unserer Mitte. Die Einbürgerung von Türken, die eine deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit beantragen, steigt von Tag zu Tag. Für mich ergab sich der Anreiz über den türkischen Poeten und Sänger, Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu (Schatiroglu), 1894-1973
