We are in the middle of this true story about a 16 y/o boy named Cameron. Cameron has Down Syndrome and he is about to achieve a worldwide first for disabled populations. This book is more than a story; it is a plan of action that encourages everyone to copy this idea for themselves or for their disabled loved ones. This worldwide first involves two people forming a team to have full function. One of the things that this team can achieve is state recognition as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or CNA. Two names are on one certification card and this is a game changer for disabled populations. As a CNA team, these two people, no longer need caregivers and can be employed in their own business to provide care for other people with disabilities. A CNA team is just one way for disabled populations to share in the American dream. This book will present other solutions for transition and assisted living in a format that can be modified in a hundred different ways to fit the interests and abilities of the people it can help. A change in zoning has created a unique place of business called a "Working Group Home." Our story starts at this location and we are underway with a method to employ developmentally disabled populations who will teach and lead activities for people under their developmental age. For example, if you are 35 years old, and your developmental age is 9 years old, you can be a leader and instructor for people who are either 6, 7 or 8 years old or who have the developmental age of a 6, 7 or 8-year-old. What if you had the very best selection of almost every possible fun and educational activity there is for 6, 7 or 8 year olds and you put this into an afterschool program? We do have the very best activities; these are found in the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. We have organized Pack 114 for special scouts and right now we are training scouts with disabilities to be our future employees and leaders in our Working Group Home. Try to read it without getting teary eyed, I dare you! Our first Working Group Home is under construction and is just barely operational as an aquatic center. Disabled populations will be employed here to manage this unique facility that has a variety of businesses and activities all located under one roof. Our book discusses an amazing plan filled full of tropical adventure that provides the funding for this aquatic center. The aquatic center will then host a small boarding school to train disabled populations to become CNA's. We will then provide support so they can operate their own business caring for one or two other people with disabilities. This book discusses what has gone wrong with our country to create such terrible conditions for the disabled and elderly. We also discuss a solution to fix this problem.
