Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Journalismus, Publizistik, Universität Leipzig (Institut für Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Theorien der PR, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Untersuchungsgegenstand dieser Arbeit sind gegenwärtige kommunikations-wissenschaftlichen Theorieansätze, welche versuchen die mannigfaltigen Beziehungen zwischen Public Relations (PR) und Journalismus thesen- respektive modellhaft zu objektivieren. Anhand des Rekurses auf die aktuelle Debatte und der aus ihr erwachsenden (teilsweise kontradiktorischen) Postulate sollen Herkunft und Überprüfbarkeit sowie Tragfähigkeit bzw. Reichweite der verschiedenen Ansätze beleuchtet werden. Die Ansätze werden auf ihre theoretische Provenienz hin untersucht. Welche Theorien (System-, Handlungs-, Akteurstheorie) beeinflussten den Aufbau der zwei Modelle bzw. die Formulierung der These. Welche Folgen haben diese Wurzeln für die jeweiligen Modelle (die These)? In wieweit sind die Elemente der Modelle operational in empirische Studien zu überführen? Bieten sie Ansatzpunkte zur ihrer empirischen Überprüfung? Welche Studien könnten aufgrund der Modelle erstellt werden und mit welchem Ergebnis? Im ersten Schritt wird versucht, das in der Kommunikationswissenschaft herrschende Verständnis über die Funktionen und Gegenständlichkeiten von Public Relations und Journalismus abzubilden. Angeschlossen ist die Vorstellung dreier früher und populärer Ansätze zur Beschreibung ihrer wechselseitigen Beziehungen. Vorgestellt werden Ansätze, die das Verhältnis als nichtlinear verstehen: die Interdependenzthese, das Intereffikationsmodell und das Interpenetrationsmodell. Die drei Ansätze werden im nächsten Schritt auf ihre theoretische Herkunft und Anbindung sowie ihre Reichweite hin untersucht. Der folgende Abschnitt zeigt Ähnlichkeiten und Gegensätze auf.
