About the Author: Yu Liu is a full professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He was a visiting pre-doctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University, Evanston, USA, from 2008 to 2010, and a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, from 2012 to 2013. His research interests include system reliability modeling and analysis, maintenance decisions, prognostics and health management, and design under uncertainty. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Reliability, IISE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, and ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, Mechanical Systems, and Signal Processing. He has been recognized as one of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier since 2016. He was a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and the HIWIN Doctoral Dissertation Award sponsored by HIWIN Technologies Corporation and Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers. He serves as the vice president of the Reliability Committee of Operations Research Society of China and the associate editor of IISE Transactions and IEEE Transactions on Reliability. He is a fellow of ISEAM.
Dong Wang received his Ph.D. degree from City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2015. He was a senior research assistant, postdoctoral fellow, and research fellow at City University of Hong Kong. He is currently an associate professor in Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China, where he is also connected with State Key Laboratory of Mechanical System and Vibration. He serves as a deputy director of SJTU Research Center for Intelligent Equipment Operation and Maintenance. His research interests include sparsity and complexity measures, signal processing, prognostics and health management, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, statistical learning and machine learning, statistical process control, and nondestructive testing. Dr. Wang is an editorial board member for Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Sensors Journal, Measurement, and Journal of Dynamics, Monitoring, and Diagnostics. He has been awarded State Specially Recruited Experts (Youth Talents), several IEEE and Elsevier Outstanding Reviewer Status and IEEE Outstanding Associate Editor, and Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship.
Jinhua Mi is an associate research fellow in the Center for System Reliability and Safety and the School of Automation Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2016. She was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute for Risk and Reliability at Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, from 2018 to 2019. Her research interests include system reliability modeling, analysis and assessment, uncertainty quantification, multi-source uncertain information fusion, data-driven fault diagnosis and prognostic and health management. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conferences, such as IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Reliability Engineering & System Safety, Annals of Operations Research. She has won the best paper awards at the conferences of QR2MSE 2016 and IEEE PHM Qingdao 2019.
He Li received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China, and is now working at the Center for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC), Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. His research mainly focuses on the failure, risk, reliability, availability, and maintainability of complex systems such as floating offshore wind turbines. Dr. He Li has published one book (with Springer) and more than 20 peer-reviewed papers in, for instance, renewable energy, reliability engineering and system safety, applied soft computing, ocean engineering, and so forth. Dr. He Li is the associate editor, guest editor, and member of editorial board of several Journals and serves as a special session chair, organization committee co-chair, and program committee member of several international conferences.
