About the Book

This book is an initiation into advertising for those who know nothing about it. It contains basic concepts that clearly and easily explain an extremely complex business in simple terms, giving readers a basic understanding of the industry.
About the Author: Agustín Medina works all his life in the world of the advertising, as Copywriter in McCann-Erickson and Lintas, Creative Director in NCK, International Vice-president in Foote, Cone and Belding, and as Founder and President of La Banda de Agustín Medina. His wide experience and recognition have allowed him to take part as member of the Jury in numerous international festivals of Advertising, as the Festival of Cannes, Hong Kong 4Áwards, Achap of Chile, or the Festival of Communication in La Habana (Cuba). Also he has been a President of the Jury in festivals as El Sol of San Sebastian, FIAP of Buenos Aires and NOVA of Colombia, between others. Agustín Medina at present is a Lecturer and Strategic Consultant in Communication and Marketing, Teacher in the Directors' Masters of Communication of CESMA and of Advertising, Design and EAE's Corporate Image Business School. Also he has been a President of the Spanish Association of Agencies of Advertising (AEAP), post that occupied until March, 2004. He was A President and founder of the Association of The Creative Directors (ADC). Along his professional path he has received numerous prizes. And he is an author of campaigns as emblematic as that of the Man of the Schweppes Tonic, those of Coffee Monky with Carmen Maura (Tacita a tacita), or the privatizations of Telefonica and Tabacalera between great others. He has written eigth books: "Notas al margen. Reflexiones de un publicitario" (1995), " La Publicidad" (2001), "Apuntes para un cambio de siglo publicitario" (2004), "Historia de mi Banda" (2005), "Cómo llegar al éxito de fracaso en fracaso" (2006), " Ideas para tener ideas" (2007), " Bye, bye, marketing" (2010). And "Hoja de Ruta para Emprendedores" (2012). Also he has pronounced numerous conferences in the whole world. In March, 2011 he has been nominated A Member of Honor in the Spanish Academy of Advertising
