Through a satirical fiction, The African Rebels, Doctor Assemien describes the
current reality in the African countries. As seemingly a true witness of one of
those tragedies destroying the continent, the author tells his story to denounce
the African people flaws, especially their political, economic, social and cultural
wrong doings and faults.
In his country plunged into mourning by a tribal war, a journalist masters his
fear to enter the universe of the rebels and discovers sadly a reality that leads
him to denounce all the ugly facts that contribute to the instability in Africa: bad
leadership of the presidents, violence, coups, armed rebellions...But more, his
criticism does not spare the dirty hands of the Western imperialism that creates
any war whenever and wherever seems necessary to their benefits.
Finally, the author's story also invites everyone to think about the possibility to
build a better world. A good dream that carries Toissin, the hero, and that he tries
to make become true, as he is the divine messenger assigned to the realization of
that mission.
