Introduction)
The year was 1887. July 7th. to be exact. Almost nine months to the day when the event happened. It was the middle of October in 1886 when Suzanne and Fango had that unexpected encounter in the cave that led to the "Ghost Town" at bandits' lair.
He, "Fango" the Poet Gunsinger. She, Suzanne Goodworth, the wife of Major George Goodworth, the captured prisoner of "Spange" the notorious bandit killer. He ruled this outpost at "Ghost Town". Suzanne, with the help of Fango, went there to rescue her husband. Fango had served under the Major as a Captain in the 9th regiment of horse soldiers. Their home base was at Fort Bowie. Fango was not in the army now, just a hired gun to help his commander's wife free her husband.
They had been on the trail for a long time. Although their intentions were pure, fate took its toll...as they lay in that ominous cave they touched...and love had its way. Not once, but the next morning too.
To complicate things, the next day they were captured by the bandits. Spange had his way with Suzanne in a bargain for her husband's life. A series of incredible events happened and both Spange and Fango had to go to trial...Spange for his crimes, and Fango for killing two Buffalo soldiers by mistake. Still, they had to endure the court martial. They both ended up with twenty years of hard labor at the prison compound in Fort Bowie.
Book Series:
For those of you who are thinking of buying my two books in this series, you should be aware of the themes:
The overall theme of book one, "Fango, The Poet Gunslinger" this is an action adventure story that takes place in the Old West.
The hidden theme of book one is:
A married woman has an illicit love affair with two men and has an illegitimate child...and she does not know which of the two is the father.
In book two: "AGhosta, the Poet Sheriff " this is also a roaring adventure story. The child in book one has grown up to be the sheriff of this western town.
The underlying theme is: She is the 18 year old daughter who falls in love with her father. Although, she does not know he is her father. He, on the other hand has no idea she is his daughter. The predicament is...They are planning to be married.
This leads to a very complicated solution that the author must figure out to solve this problem.
The story resolves with a Surprise Ending....which is quite unexpected. Then, in the Epilogue, ....There is a " Surprise Ending "...to the surprise ending...a possible first in this type of storytelling...fBk
