Theorie und Theoretiker des Theaterbaus, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Architektur des Theaters stellt sich seit jeher die eine zentrale Frage, wie man ein optimales Verhältnis aus Sicht und Akustik für jeden Sitzplatz hinbekommen könnte. Von der Antike bis in die Neuzeit haben sich Architekten des Theaterbaus diese Frage gestellt und sie haben bis heute keine abschließende und befriedigende Antwort finden können. Zwar war es ihnen möglich theoretisch eine optimale Konstruktion zu erreichen, doch war dies mit den Gegebenheiten, die ein Theatergebäude sonst noch erfüllen muss, nicht zu realisieren. Bedenkt man, dass neben einer guten Sicht und einem guten Hören der Schauspieler oder des Orchesters auch die Wirtschaftlichkeit der Sitzplätze bedacht werden muss, da man eine gewisse Mindestzahl an Zuschauern - vor allem als es noch keine staatliche Kulturförderung gab und auch heute ist diese noch von der Anzahl der Sitzplätze in vielen Ländern abhängig - benötigte um auch die Kosten zu decken, die für Salär, Technik und Bühnenkulisse anfielen. So konnten die Architekten eben nicht nur einem architektonischen Prinzip treu bleiben, sondern mussten alle in Betracht kommenden Aspekte verarbeiten und in den Entwurf integrieren. Vor allem mit den zunehmenden Bränden und Unfällen spielten auch sicherheitstechnische Komponenten eine zunehmende Rolle. Die Bühne musste anders als bisher gebaut werden und konnte nicht mehr den einfachen Gegebenheiten für eine gute Sichtachse zu allen Sitzplätzen genüge tragen. Ganz zu schweigen natürlich von der Tatsache, dass neben der dann herzustellenden Wirtschaftlichkeit des Gebäudes, dass Gebäude als solches auch nicht zu teuer werden durfte, da die Schulden auch in einer angemessenen Zeit wieder abgetragen werden mussten.
