About the Book

English description: Marziale Dini was an essential figure in the nineteenth-century Colle di Val d'Elsa, where he participated from a young age in the different struggles, combats and political processes of his native Tuscany. After serving in the armies of unification, Marziale returned home where he was elected mayor and contributed to the civic and economic development of Colle. This volume includes Dini's diary, letters, photographs, original documents, and a scholarly introduction.
