Usher young children into the world of ICE, an albino buck who's never met a problem in the environment he couldn't solve on behalf of his family and other animal friends.
Veteran educator and author Annie Laughter introduces young children to important lessons about creative problem solving, environmentalism, and the natural world with this whimsical and charming collection of story poems about ICE and his friends.
Each chapter incorporates new vocabulary words, scientific facts, and social skills as ICE deals with topics such as pollution, conservation, discrimination, bullying, safety lessons, animal rescue, and natural disaster. As ICE confronts the issues affecting his animal friends, he employs cleverness and imaginative, thoughtful solutions instead of brute power-introducing important concepts to children and adults alike.
Accompanied by lovely illustrations to engage even young children, The Albino Deer Series, Volume 2 provides a wonderful starting point for group activities and discussions and makes a valuable addition to any school, classroom, or personal library.
