Unsere Kultur duldet den Konsum großer Mengen mit dem Ziel des Rausches bis zu einem gewissen Grad. Der Druck der "Gesellschaft" in bestimmten Situationen Alkohol trinken zu müssen ist enorm. Nicht selten hält man Abstinenzler für ungesellig, spießig, verklemmt, werden diese Menschen unbewusst aus gemeinsamen Aktivitäten ausgeschlossen. Im positiven dient der Konsum von Alkohol der Entspannung, der Förderung des sozialen Kontakts, er wirkt enthemmend und stimmungsaufhellend. Negativ wirkt er sich dann aus, wenn er gebraucht wird, weil sich soziale Probleme und Belastungen z.B. im Beruf nicht mehr allein bewältigen lassen. Dann handelt es sich um Missbrauch und die Gefahr einer Abhängigkeit ist gegeben. Der Übergang ist fließend, was ein frühzeitiges Erkennen und Eingreifen schwierig macht. Alkoholabhängige gibt es in allen Gesellschaftsschichten, Alters- und Berufsgruppen. Die Gefahr der Abhängigkeit, mit all den negativen Auswirkungen auf das Individuum, das soziale Umfeld und die Haushaltskasse des Staates, wird oftmals unterschätzt. Meine Hausarbeit soll Alkoholbedingte Probleme am Arbeitsplatz beleuchten. Sie zeigt des Weiteren den richtigen Umgang mit alkoholkranken Mitarbeitern auf. Auf die unterschiedlichen Trinkmuster und -typen sowie den Verlauf der Krankheit in bestimmten Phasen kann im Rahmen dieser Hausarbeit nicht eingegangen werden. Ab wann aber kann ich von Alkoholproblemen sprechen? Für wen stellt es sich als ein Problem dar? Für den Betroffenen, den Betrieb, die Arbeitskollegen, die gesamte Gesellschaft? Ist der Konsum von Alkohol nicht meine eigene Entscheidung, mein privates Problem? Warum und wann Vorgesetzte eingreifen sollten, welchen Weg sie gehen und was sie beim oftmals tabu
