Morbid - Morderisch - Mysterios Im September 1929 lasst sich der deutsche Zahnarzt Dr. Friedrich Ritter gemeinsam mit seiner Gefahrtin Dore Strauch auf der Galapagos-Insel „Floreana“ nieder, um seine personliche Philosphie von der Einsamkeit zu leben. Interessiert beobachtet die internationale Presse die Siedler am Ende der Welt und animiert durch die Berichte vom Garten Eden suchen die Kolner Eheleute Wittmer mit ihrem blinden Sohn ihr Schicksal mit diesem einsamen, tropischen Eiland zu verknupfen und sich eine neue Heimat zu errichten. Die paradiesische Idylle wird durch das kometenhafte Auftauchen der selbsternannten „Kaiserin von Galapagos“ Baronin Elvira Wagner-Bousquet mit ihrem seltsamen Anhang von sklavisch ergebenen Junglingen empfindlich gesto Haß und Mißgunst, Zank und Streit ― Menschliches, Allzumenschliches schlich sich durch die neuen Ankommlinge in die Inselidylle ein. Die gereizte Situation eskaliert und endet in der Katastrophe. Die Schicksale deutscher Aussiedler auf Floreana, ungeklarte Todesfalle und das spurlose Verschwinden von „Tat“-Beteiligten beflugelten nicht nur die damalige internationale Presse sondern ziehen ihre Spur bis in das 21. Jahrhundert. Die widerspruchlichen Veroffentlichungen von Margret Wittmer (Postlagernd Floreana) und Dore Strauch (Satan kam nach Eden) fuhrten ebenso wenig zur Aufhellung der dunklen Umstande wie die Publikationen anderer Autoren aus neuerer Zeit oder zahlreiche Kommentare auf Internetseiten; dabei werden oft in Unkenntnis nur Falsch- und Unwahrheiten „re“-zitiert. Die eigentliche Motivation und Philosophie Dr. Ritters bleiben dabei auf der Strecke. Die personlichen Briefe und Aufzeichnungen von Dr. Friedrich Ritter als einem der Hauptpersonen der ungeklarten Galapagos-Affare erschienen 1935 posthum bei Grethlein & Co. Nachf. in Leipzig und galten lange Zeit als verschollen. Das vorliegende, im B. LaPhi-Verlag erschienene Buch ist der vollstandige und ungekurzte Nachdruck der Originalausgabe.
