Les fluides conventionnels tels que l'eau, l'éthylène glycol et le sodium sont normalement utilisés comme fluides de transfert de chaleur. Diverses techniques sont appliquées pour améliorer le transfert de chaleur. L'utilisation d'additifs est une technique appliquée pour améliorer les performances de transfert de chaleur des fluides de base. Récemment, en tant que matériau innovant, des particules de taille nanométrique ont été utilisées en suspension dans des fluides de transfert de chaleur conventionnels. Dans ce projet, nous avons considéré le problème de la convection forcée d'un fluide à l'intérieur d'un tube uniformément chauffé qui est soumis à un flux de chaleur constant et uniforme à la paroi. Les taux de transfert de chaleur sont analysés pour les deux fluides de base et les nano-fluides sous le même nombre de Reynolds et le même flux de chaleur uniforme dans le tube chauffé uniformément et le travail analytique est fait dans le logiciel FLUENT 6.3. Dans ce projet, trois fluides de base ont été sélectionnés, à savoir l'eau, l'éthylène glycol et le sodium. Pour améliorer le taux de transfert de chaleur des fluides de base susmentionnés, des nanoparticules d'aluminium, de cuivre et d'argent ont été choisies. Un travail comparatif est également effectué entre les modèles de conductivité thermique.
