Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Film und Fernsehen, Note: 1,0, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: [...] Gegenüber investigativen (besonders Fernseh-) Beiträgen zum Thema Computer- und Videospiele herrscht in Spieler-Kreisen seitdem große Skepsis. Intensive Diskussionen in einschlägigen Internet-Foren sind immer wieder Belege dafür. Der Magazinbeitrag "Video-Gemetzel im Kinderzimmer" in der Frontal21-Sendung am 9. November 2004 sorgte nicht nur im Internet wochenlang für Diskussionen. In Tausenden E-Mails sowie Anrufen und offenen Briefen an Frontal21-Redaktion und Autor beschwerten sich Computer- und Videospieler über den Beitrag - Fachmagazine schlossen sich dem mit kritischen Kommentaren an (vgl. o.A. 2005, S. 3). [Ich selbst befasse mich seit einigen Jahren mit dem Thema (Jugend-)Medienschutz und seit mehr als 15 Jahren mit dem Thema Computer- und Videospiele (siehe Bahre 2003) und so beteiligte ich mich als aktiver Spieler ebenfalls an Internet-Diskussionen und schriftlichen "Protesten" (siehe Bahre 2004, Online im Internet).] Die geäußerten Vorwürfe reichten von mangelnder journalistischer Objektivität, Stimmungsmache gegen Video- und Computerspiele und deren Fans durch einseitig negative Darstellung, inhaltliche Undifferenziertheit und Vorverurteilung (Stichwort "Killerspiele") bis hin zu gezielter Verbreitung falscher Fakten und bloßer Behauptungen wider besseren Wissens des Autors. Letztlich griff Frontal21 die heftigen Reaktionen um den Beitrag sogar selbst noch einmal in einer Sendung auf (vgl. Fromm / Reichart 2005, Online im Internet) - über fünf Monate später zwar, aber immerhin. Mit dem Ziel einer Verknüpfung meines nicht-beruflichen Interesses an PC- und Videospielen und meines beruflichen Interesses an Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft entstand anlässlich der für das Medienseminar Fernsehen zu verfassenden Hausarbeit die
