This square picture book fits in well with the experiences of toddlers and toddlers. At that age, they begin to understand what something looks like, even if they cannot fully see the object or person. In this booklet, five cheerful animals with a specially drawn coat play a role. They are hidden on the nearly full-page flap of the right-hand pages. If you flip that flap over, you can see them in all their glory with their stripes, spots, or dots. The illustrations consist of simplified, but recognizable shapes and have a beautiful color, from warm reds to vivid yellow or the cool blue of the night. A deer, flamingos flying off, sleeping owls and perky ants complete the picture. - Halle Library

About the Author: Loufane/b (Namur, Belgium, 1975) likes to create touching characters to bring to life funny children's stories that leave an imprint on the reader. In 1999 she graduated from the Academy of Arts Saint-Luc (école superieure des arts) in Liege, Belgium, but she settled down in Quebec in Canada to exercise her profession. Up until now, she published worldwide about thirty children's books. She has a passion for childhood, traveling, and photography. Loufane grew up surrounded by animals. There were cats, a dog, a donkey, goats, sheep and of course... chicken! Even a rooster, the donkey's best friend. Loufane also liked the animals of the forest: bears, foxes ... and most of all the wolf. So illustrating stories starring those animals is a real pleasure for her. She loves to make them undergo adventures full of surprises that make you laugh and that gives children lots of pleasure.
