Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Literaturgeschichte, Epochen, Note: 1,3, Universität des Saarlandes (Philosophische Fakultät), Veranstaltung: PS Goethes Gedichte, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Johann Wolfgang Goethe zählt zu den einflussreichsten und bekanntesten Literaten der deutschen Literaturgeschichte, wenn es sich nicht sogar um die prägendste Person in diesem Kontext seit jeher handelt. In seiner Leb- und Wirkzeit zwischen 1749 und 1832 wirkte Goethe im Kontext unterschiedlicher Epochen oder prägte diese maßgeblich mit, so sind vorwiegend Sturm und Drang und die Weimarer Klassik zu nennen. In letztere Epoche sind die zu behandelnden Gedichte Römische Elegien einzuordnen, welche von Goethe nach seiner Italienreise von 1786 bis 1788 verfasst wurden und in Friedrich Schillers Horen 1795 erstpubliziert wurden. Goethe begeisterte sowohl mit epischen, als auch mit dramatischen und lyrischen Werken gleichermaßen, wobei die vorliegenden Gedichte aufgrund ihrer Machart für große Aufregung in Weimar sorgten. Diese Aufregung resultierte aus den erotischen Darstellungen in den Römischen Elegien, weshalb auf den nachfolgenden Seiten die Erfahrungen des lyrischen Ichs mit der Antike, mit besonderem Faktor auf der Liebe, entschlüsselt werden sollen. In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit liegt der Fokus auf den Römischen Elegien I und V, um an diesen die Wahrnehmung des lyrischen Ichs mit der Umwelt zu prüfen. Eine Betrachtung des literaturhistorischen Kontextes der Lyrik der Weimarer Klassik wird sich hierzu als Erstes auf die Begrifflichkeit und Benennung dieser Epoche fokussieren und im Anschluss die Programmatik der Weimarer Klassik behandeln. Es folgt eine stilistische Analyse der Elegien I und V, in welcher besonders die sprachliche Konzeption der Elegien herausgearbeitet wird.
