About the Author: Roelf Woldring knows about performance contracting because he came to it when performance appraisal no longer worked for him. It damaged, rather than enhanced his relationships with his employees. He found that he needed an alternative which allowed him to inspire the folks who worked for him to stretch and achieve their personal bests. Searching for an alternative, Roelf developed the performance contracting process. Once he started to implement it, he never went back. The companies he worked for still required that he do performance appraisals. But they became a snap to do once he was regularly doing performance contracting. Roelf has been an IT professional, a CIO, a CEO and a senior organizational change consultant. He writes regularly both on the Internet, and in print - which he still believes is a powerful way to influence, to educate and to persuade. Roelf runs WeCrut3.com, a talent management firm. He maintains an active up to date Linked In profile.
