Mittlerweile ist sie jedoch überholt: Die Geschäftsleitung und Personalleiter haben erkannt, dass nur mit einer hohen Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit auch Kundenzufriedenheit erreicht werden kann. Die Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit ist damit der Schlüsselfaktor für Kundenzufriedenheit und gilt als Voraussetzung für Erfolg. Dies bedeutet, dass heutzutage viel mehr Wert auf einen zufriedenen Mitarbeiter gelegt wird. [...] Die Personalleiter müssen sich demnach überlegen, mit welchen Methoden sie ihre Mitarbeiter motivieren, zufriedenstellen und dadurch binden können. Insbesondere die Mitarbeiterbindung spielt im Zeitalter der Globalisierung, der Schnelllebigkeit und des drohenden Fachkräftemangels eine große Rolle. Im Zuge des demografischen Wandels werden die Menschen immer älter und weniger qualifizierte Mitarbeiter rücken nach. [...] Die zuständigen Teamleiter und Vorgesetzten müssen bedenken, dass jeder Mensch individuell verschieden ist, andere Wünsche hat und unterschiedliche Prioritäten im Leben setzt. Daher sollte man als Teamleiter auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse des Mitarbeiters eingehen, sie achten und versuchen, ihn auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise zu motivieren, damit seine Arbeit ihn zufrieden stimmt und er gerne hingeht. Oftmals wird dies jedoch nicht beachtet und alle Mitarbeiter werden gleich behandelt und gleich motiviert. In einem Unternehmen sind verschiedene Generationen vertreten. Die Zeiten haben sich geändert und ein Bewusstseinswandel und kulturelle Veränderungen haben sich über Jahre entwickelt. Dadurch entstehen in Gesellschaften neue Werte, Prioritäten und Vorlieben.
