About the Book

Evangelism, essential to the life of the Christian church, is a call to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world. Over the centuries, this mission has been the engine that has driven the growth and vitality of the Christian community, bringing the message of hope and salvation to every corner of the world.
The need for evangelism is more than just an option; It is a response to God's command. According to the New Testament, in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus Himself establishes this call with His words: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." This command was not only for his immediate disciples, but for all Christians throughout history. It is a call that resonates in the heart of every believer, motivating them to share their faith.
Evangelism, however, goes beyond the mere proclamation of words; it is about living and sharing the love of Christ in action and truth. In 1 Corinthians 13:1, Paul points out that "if I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have no love, I am like a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal." This perspective highlights the importance of a loving and genuine approach in evangelism.
The role of the evangelist is crucial. It is not just about being an eloquent speaker, it is about being a living witness to God's grace and love. In 2 Timothy 4:5, Paul counsels Timothy: "But you, be sober in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." This exhortation underscores the importance of living a life that reflects the values and teachings of Christ.
Evangelism is not limited to large events or campaigns; It manifests itself in everyday life. Every interaction with friends, family, and colleagues is an opportunity to show God's love and grace. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine so brightly before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
As evangelism adapts to the modern times, it must also remain rooted in immutable biblical principles. The truth of the gospel, the need for God's grace and love, and the hope of salvation are messages that remain relevant in any cultural or temporal context.
It is important to remember that evangelism is not a task that falls solely to church leaders or professional missionaries. It is a responsibility shared by all Christians. Every believer has a unique circle of influence, a set of relationships and situations where they can be witnesses for Christ. As 1 Peter 3:15 says, "Always be ready to make a defense with meekness and reverence to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that is in you."
Evangelism is an act of obedience and love: obedience to Christ's command and love for those who do not yet know Him. It reflects the heart of God, who desires "all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4).
In short, evangelism is an invitation to participate in God's work in the world, an opportunity to be part of the larger story of redemption and grace. It is a call to live in ways that reflect the light of Christ, so that through our words and actions, others can find the way to love and eternal salvation in Jesus. In this effort, every believer, equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit, can make a significant difference, contributing to the great commission entrusted to us.
