About the Book

Baily Bumble Bee celebrated the beginning of her summer vacation the only way she knew how. She expressed her joy in the way that she flew. Baily did not know that the Council of Flying Things had passed laws regulating how creatures could fly. While Baily was exercising her freedom to fly, she was seen by a Blue Jay who reported her to to the Council of Flying Things. The wise Owl sent policemen, the wasps, to find Baily and bring her before the Council to answer for her actions. During Baily's trial she and her father convinced the Owl that the law was unfair and it was wrong to prevent Baily from exercising her individual rights. Baily was released to enjoy the rest of her vacation with her friends. At the end of the story are some questions for children to answer, giving the book some educational value. The rough draft, artist uncolored proof drawings are placed at the end of the story as a coloring book for children to practice their coloring skills as well as their sensory development and awareness. Plus, the colored pictures are a keepsake for the family to cherish. The book also quietly promotes individual rights and a respect for the law.

About the Author: About the author: Bob Stewart was born in Louisiana and was raised and attended school in Alexandria. Bob went to LSU and Louisiana College where he majored in English and History. He began his adult life as a professional athlete. Elected to public office, Bob spent twenty-two years managing courts. He did post graduate study in Judicial Administration and was awarded the designation of Graduate Fellow of the Institute for Court Management by the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, The Honorable Warren E. Burger. Bob also spent six years as a District Director for the US House of Representatives and Congressman John Cooksey. His passion is fly fishing and he spent six months living in Yellowstone National Park and fishing park streams and the world famous Madison River. Bob has multiple sclerosis which ended his professional sports career and has helped people diagnosed with the disease. He is writing his memoirs and working on a novel. He is writing children's books for his granddaughter Rylee and spends his time on the farm in Loudon, Tennessee where he writes, reads Plains Indian historical literature and plays his guitar. About the artist: Jerry Gorum grew up on a farm in the hill country of Central Louisiana. Jerry is a man of diverse talents and experience having been a bank president, businessman and cowboy. But, his first love is art and he is an accomplished sculptor and has many large bronze sculptures adorning the grounds of public parks, VA hospitals and public and private buildings. He maintains his studio in Glenmora, Louisiana. Jerry holds the distinction of having more permanent realistic monumental bronze sculpture in the State of Louisiana than any artist in history. In addition to sculptures, Jerry has crafted a series of Western Frontier Folk collectibles. His characters depict the real characters of the West, not the Hollywood film versions. He has recently completed a novel set during the Civil War. When asked if he was dedicating the book, he said that, "The book is dedicated to anyone who has ever had a dream and worked to make that dream come true." Jerry sculpted "Chuck Wagon Bob" honoring the camp cook and assigned his copyright to a friend. Bob Stewart is proud to be that friend.
