Bandbaz has been followed by Sasan Habibvand's two other impressing works: "AZ RANJ TA RAHAYI" (From Pain to Liberation) and BIGANEH DAROON (The Alien Within), which introduce a novel approach to our most important questions through our journey of discovering ourselves and our purpose of life. Sasan Habibvand's BANDBAZ has been meant to form an introduction to a profound self-discovery and self-flourishing put forth by the author as a philosopher of life. Some of the topics include: "happiness," "ego," ("self" and "I"), "conditioning" and what the author has termed as "The Outward I," as opposed to "The Inward I." Of course, each of these subjects can be discussed extensively, however, what this book has aimed to do is to address these topics not as a number of sporadic, unrelated discussions but as a series of logically related issues so that self-knowledge can be designed and elaborated as an organic system of knowledge. It is hoped that the enthusiastic readers who often ask themselves: "what is self-knowledge" can find their answer here. A main principle, which the author has tried to hold on to throughout the discussions, is logic and lucidity in the arguments and elaborations. The author's view has invariably been that true change and liberation are not the fruits of merely knowing, but of "insight," or seeing. Knowledge, he believes, is accumulation of a range of data in memory, which is not of essential value, per se. However, insight constitutes the ability to discern and decide. In other words, real wisdom is not knowing; it is seeing; seeing with one's own eyes, which has been our goal in this book: to see by ourselves. It can also be called logic-oriented or realistic approach. Here, instead of delving into theoretical discussions or resorting to various hypotheses, we choose to look directly inside ourselves and witness our modes, feelings and states. In other words, we are not seeking to see what this psychologist or that scientist have said about our problems or about how they originate; rather we curiously step into our own being and observe what is going on in there. And this is an exciting discovery, particularly since it is us who see and feel, not that scientist or thinker. About the Author: Sasan Habibvand is a teacher, author and researcher. His main areas of interest include philosophy, psychology and self-awareness. He has spent some 20 years searching on the concepts of happiness and philosophy of life. Habibvand has always nursed a strong passion for finding satisfying answers to the most crucial questions about the philosophy of life. His enthusiasm to do so, added to his extensive study on the meanings of Self, Esteem and Ego and their relationship with the enduring happiness brought about amazing discoveries in his journey of Self-knowledge. A significant feature of Habibvand's works is he refuses to confine his search for truth to either of the fields of science or philosophy, or to ancient or modern realms of human knowledge. Rather, he delicately exploits an integrated insight derived from both mystical and philosophical views to address the human's everlasting search for happiness and meaning of life. In 2015 he published "Az Ranj ta Rahayi" (From Pain to Liberation) simultaneously with his other work Bandbaz (The Tightrope Walker) as his first books on Self-discovery. In his writings, Habibvand integrates the ancient wisdom of Erfan with the rigorousness of modern sciences to open his way through a journey to the truth.
